I wish it were so simple. I honestly believe that the Arab neighbours don't have any envy of the Israelis, just hate. Over 50 years of seeing this conflict in the workplace evolve tells me that there is very little that these groups have in common. Hence, that sets up the endless conflict. It is a vicious circle - without any respect and trust, there is no possibility of an agreement. The WH obviously sees the situation much the same way. Their tack was to throw a monkey wrench into Read More
but there is a parallel between the aggregate value of the manufacturing workforce and any single executive manager or group of managers. The union represents not a specific worker, but the aggregate of all workers. Without such representation, your analogy is quite correct - no individual worker is worth the time or effort for the company to negotiate with, and as such, no individual worker can exert any influence on his wages or working conditions. But a group of employees can be Read More
Correct on some counts but missing the core issue with Homosexuality in human beings. It is an aberration without merit. In Christian Theology, homosexuals should not become priests because they suffer from a deformity of their character and have a perverted their sexuality and indicate a greater proclivity to sin. Homosexuality is usually only one manifestation of a deformed conscience which usually involves excessive self love and sensuality. The Priest is meant to be another Christ. Read More
Much of the consternation regarding medical care costs, mandatory insurance, freeloading and other issues could be resolved by repealing all laws requiring free emetophobia treatment to all who choose to go uninsured or who by virtue of their indigence or other circumstance are unable to pay the cost of treatment. Those individuals would not go untreated but would instead be directed either to more responsible behavior concerning their health-care or to a suitable charitable or governmental Read More
Holly, thanks for sharing your sorrow. The frontiers of medicine can encourage false hopes. But sometimes you just can't effect the course of events - history just unfolds around you in ways you wouldn't have chosen. Everyone has at least some dreams they can never fulfill. For instance, everyone with cancer wishes there was a high tech cure, but often there isn't. Maybe this is one dream your will never realize, Holly. If that's the case you just have to accept it grief and sorrow Read More
I am also a Buckeye and I believe John Kaisch is doing exactly what I voted for him to do. He promised his focus would be on improving the climate for jobs attraction in Ohio. He also promised a balanced budget. He is trying to deliver on his pledges. He also made it very clear on his small group campaign stops that he was not in this to win a popularity poll but rather to do the hard work law of attraction tips solving Ohio's employment problems. He still has the support of the state Read More
Some famous people in history claim that we should risk lives regardless because it shows AMERICAN history. American is capitalized as for some people when somebody with a name sounding like mine says anything it is not American or American enough. They tell me to shut up. We have 11 people + the pilot dead and more may die, and certainly far more injured, disabled as 70 some people went to the hospital. All the name of the history. How dumb does it have to get? Showing of one's backyard Read More
Bemotto in lifeg a politician, especially a powerful one, brings a lot of power, glitz and all the traps that money could buy. But apparently it also saps one's quality of life, I mean, free time to oneself is important, if you ask me, component of a quality life. Being in charge of everything and anything, being responsible for everything and anything and in constant fear/concern of being toppled are not something I want in my life. Maybe his brother made a right choice by living in Read More
Why not do away with a prevailing wage requirement and either do the project health less expensively (i.e. be a good steward with the public's money) or hire more workers for the same cost? Is it better to (a) do a project with 100 workers making $30 an hour, (b) do a project with the same 100 workers making $24 an hour or (c) do a project with 125 workers (including the original 100) all making $24 an hour? Please keep in mind when you answer that someone--you if you are a taxpayer--will Read More
SAT or ACT prepping can hurt a student's chance to do well at college. Paying hundreds of dollars to take a class to raise a kid's score to get into an elite college he can't qualify for on his own is just setting him up to fail. It would be better to apply to schools he can qualify for on his own merits. The main purpose of a college is to prepare a student for a job upon graduating. A state school can do that just fine. Certainly a kid whose high school cost $30,000 a year who can't Read More
